We did have a wonderful trip and I'm looking forward to posting some pictures from our new camera, however things haven't been going like I thought they would. I don't seem to have enough time these days to do everything I want or need to do. I did get the pictures from our trip put onto discs, but didn't get them in the computer to post here and I'm not sure when I'll get to them. This weekend is the Police-Celebrity golf tournament and then I'm leaving town on Monday. We just found out that my aunt has liver cancer and I need to go see her. She is a widow with no kids of her own so I don't know how long I will be there, but I'm planning on one week.
On a happier note, my granddaughter Skyler, who will be 5 on October 15th is already excited about her birthday and is requesting a cake that is red with orange frosting and purple sprinkles (something like that). It looks like her parents have their work cut out for them. Of course, it's their own fault - they made her sister Shea a cake that looked like a lady bug for her 1st birthday last March. It's going to be hard to top this one.

Home!
We made it home yesterday and there's lots to do. The 5th-wheel needs cleaning, especially the carpet, and the laundry could take a while. But I have to say that the best thing about being home is my shower! Wow did I miss it.
The first thing I did today was get my nails done - after a month they really needed it. Next on my list is to get a haircut. It's very long now and it was such a chore while traveling, especially drying it. It was too hot at first (in Sacramento) so I just wore it up and later (in Washington) the wind was pretty tough on it. It feels pretty damaged, but I need a minute to think about what to do with it.
I know that I should be getting the photos out of the camera, but we will be cleaning the patio and doing some yard work today because we are having dinner for Marcy's birthday tomorrow and want to eat outside so I don't think I will get to those pictures until tomorrow or Monday.
More later!

On Our Way Home
We've been to Oregon and Washington - especially Whidby Island near Seattle. Having a great time, but now headed home.
We haven't been close to internet service, so I haven't taken any pictures from my new camera yet, but will when we get home at the end of the week.

Photos
I am finally catching up with downloading pictures. These start with the reunion and finish with the last of those taken with the "old" camera. We bought a "new" camera here in Oregon - there's no sales tax! We wanted to get one before we go to Alaska and not paying sales tax seemed like a good idea.
I will try to give you a bit about each picture.
This is Gary playing his bagpipe - the whole rv park clapped when he finished.
We mostly sat around this year, it was over 100 degrees.
Shea after an Icee, She looks like a cute little clown.
Here is a covered bridge near Paradise.
This one is inside the Shasta Caverns. Then on the way back to the highway we saw this deer.
Shasta Dam and Shasta Mountain.
Sundial Bridge in Redding.
Crater Lake.
We saw this neat car and couldn't resist a photo.
This is a view from the last rest area before the Oregon border.

July 4th
So much for getting some pictures in here, after 5 tries only one downloaded. Here's a picture of Skyler at the Reunion. I hope to get more input when we get out of the mountains. The internet goes in and out here.
Today we did the Shasta Caverns tour. It was a good tour and we enjoyed it even though there were hundreds of very steep steps involved. It sure made us realize that we aren't kids anymore, but we managed and are feeling quite good about ourselves for it. On the way back to the highway we saw a deer. We stopped to take a picture, but it stuck its head in a bush to eat something. When I called out "Hey Bambi" it looked up at us. Ray said that no one would believe it, but it's true. Then we went to see the dam and later stopped by a place called Basshole where Ray bought a hat. It's a local dive.
So for the 4th we are here with no TV (yes and Ray is surviving) and no fireworks, however there are some stars and a beautiful full moon.
Happy 4th!

Shasta Area Day 8
Well, Ray did some errands yesterday while I had a nice visit with Joanne Robinson a friend who used to be in my friendship group before she moved to Magilia, which is north of Paradise, California. We visited quilt shops and had lunch together - girl stuff. It was fun to see her again.
I found out that I turned off the button that connects me to the WIFI. I thought it was the place we stayed last night that wasn't giving me a connection, but after we settled here by Shasta Lake I found out that the button was turned off. It's always something! I took a few more pictures but didn't bring the camera to the hotspot, maybe tomorrow.
We have been on the road for over a week and we are having a great time!

Leaving the Delta
We did have a great time in the Delta area. First, we had the Denton Family Reunion. I was a bit preoccupied and didn't take many pictures, but will post some later.
While in the area, we went to the Jelly Belly plant for a tour and then on the brewery tour. We also had dinner at Giustis - it was on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives. The food was really good and across the driveway was a nice dock with some good photo opportunities.
Working at coffee places makes it hard to get on the internet so if this post doesn't look right it's because I don't have time to pretty it up. I'm doing this while the new tires are being put on the 5th-wheel.
Later!
